Barre fitness pushes your muscles to the limit and classes usually incorporate a combination of exercises from ballet positions, yoga and Pilates, set to music, while using either a wall mount barre or freestanding barre. There are many barre fitness classes to choose from but they mainly focus on small isometric movements and high reps offering a great workout. Barre fitness can help to improve flexibility, posture, build a strong core and develop lean muscles!
Three different types of free-standing fitness barres are available - the portable barre with carrying case, a freestanding barre and an adjustable barre for your fitness requirements. We also have wall mount fitness barres with brackets.
The portable fitness barre comes with a carrying case and is available in three different lengths (4’, 9’ and 13’). The freestanding fitness barre is available in ten different lengths (4’, 6’, 8’ 9’, 10’, 12’, 14’, 16’, 18’ and 20’) and has the option of all aluminum or a combination of wood and aluminum. Both fitness barres have color options in black, white or grey.
Both our portable fitness barres and our freestanding fitness barres are considered 'portable' as both barres are not attached or anchored to the floor. Our portable fitness barres are truly portable as they come with a carrying case. Our fitness wall mount barres are considered permanent as these are anchored either to the floor or wall or a combination of both - depending on your choice of bracket.
The free standing and portable fitness barres are made exactly the same, with different size options. The freestanding barre does not come with a carrying case. The design of the free standing barre allows it to be easily moved around and stored when not in use.
Although light and portable the free standing barres are designed for maximum stability. We have one center support for the 10’, 12’, 14’ and 16’ barres and two supports for the 18’ and 20’ barres.
Very easy! Muscles and dollies are not needed to move our barres
We designed our barres to maneuver through narrow spaces. Each foot of our free standing barres swivels to be parallel with the barre so you don’t have to worry about the width of any limited opening. This also makes storage easy and convenient either by hanging or propping against a wall.
It’s a snap to put our aluminum barres together - literally! No tools are necessary for our all aluminum barres as the tubing locks into place with our snap lock system. It takes seconds to put your barres together! It’s a few minutes to assemble the aluminum and wood combination free standing barre.
The powder coated aluminum barres should be maintenance free for the length of time you own the barre. Depending on usage and age of the wood barre, if the finish rubs off or becomes sticky, sand to remove any film and apply finish as per instructions.
It is our recommendation to have a fitness bracket approximately every four feet. It is also recommended not to have any overhang on each end of the fitness barre. To calculate how many brackets you need, simply divide the barre length by four plus add one extra bracket. Ensure a bracket is placed on the center of any join when making one long barre.
Yes, to remove any residue on the barre such as hand creams and sweaty palms, just use baby wipes. The wipes will clean and disinfect. However for stubborn buildup, mix equal parts water and vinegar to a cleaning cloth and wipe clean and finish with a dry cloth.
Yes, baby wipes to the rescue, they easily clean and disinfect without any other special care.
If the sun is shining on you and there is a beach nearby, it sounds like a great idea! However, we have to admit this isn’t necessary...and our boss would fire us. Seriously, if you have basic DIY skills our wall mount barres are very easy to install. For wall mount barre installations click here. You can always call us on our toll free number for advice.
We can customize any length of barre – please contact us for a quote.
Creating a double barre is easy! Just order two barres of the same length and install one above the other.
We hire a reeeally long truck. Seriously though, we face a few challenges. To find quality wood in long lengths to meet our standards is very difficult, if not impossible. Not to mention the expense of shipping long lengths of barres. Also, the longest barre we can ship economically is 9’ long. You can still order an 80’ length of barre (or any other desired length for that matter). For these longer lengths, we simply make our barres so they join without the use of tools - there are no gaps when the barre is joined. For our specification sheet, click here.
We try and keep a large inventory on hand for our standard sizes and ship within days of receiving your order. If however, you are ordering during our busier times (August, September and December) or if you have a custom size, it can be several weeks before we can ship.
Fit-Outs has several types of floor mount brackets that we have designed just for these types of situations. If you need a single or double barre, our floor mount brackets can accommodate both types of barres. Floor mount brackets offer the perfect solution for windows, mirrors or any other instance where you cannot install a wall mount bracket.
For a single or top barre, the recommended height is 42” to 45” from the floor. If you have double barres, then the recommendation is 32” to 35” from the floor.
Our glassless mirrors are made from a highly reflective metalized film, which has perfect optical grade reflection - no distortion! The film is vacuum stretched around a strong aluminum frame to form a mirror panel. The rigid foam core backing provides a solid mirror panel and the frame has a raised lip to provide air space between the rigid foam core and the film backing. The glassless mirrors are manufactured as a complete unit.
A glassless mirror weighs a fraction of a plate glass mirror. For instance - a glassless mirror panel sized 48" x 72" x 1 ¼” weighs around ten pounds and a plate glass mirror of the same size weighs about 72 pounds! That's a huge difference!
With the glassless mirror being made of metallized film and not plate glass, it will not shatter like glass. A glassless mirror has an inherent safety factor built in, because of the soft surface and light weight. However, you could puncture or tear the surface if you hit it, but there will be no shards of broken glass.
Check out this video to show how tough they actually are:
A glassless mirror has little mass and because of this there is hardly any attraction of dust particles - static electricity is virtually non-existent. You will not need to clean the mirror very much if the mirror is in a room where cooking grease and smoke fumes are not present.
If you need to clean a dirty panel, use a mild glass cleaner and soft cloth. This avoids surface scratching. Stay away from using tissues or paper towels as these are too abrasive. Click here for cleaning instructions.
The polyurethane foam creates a thermal insulator - so - yes. The reflective quality of the metallized film enhances the 'R' value of the foam, which is 3.3 to 6.5.
Unfortunately, you cannot use the glassless mirror panels outdoors. After tests of and extended 18 to 24 months in length, it was found that the metallized film will become brittle in a temperate zone climate. It might possibly be used outdoors if in a sheltered location and warm climate. If needed for a short term outdoor display, say a few months, then it might be used outdoors, however, we recommend you bring it indoors overnight.
A special grade of glassless mirror (94% reflectivity) is made specifically for this use as a front surface or optical mirror. Please call us for a quote as this type of glassless mirror is available as a special order. When a large size optical mirror is required, they are most often used instead of glass. For optical applications we suggest the projected image is contained within 1” from the edges of the glassless mirror surface. This is to avoid any minor image distortions that might be magnified in projection. For general purposes, glassless mirrors have a reflection of 85-86%.
Absolultely! You can silkscreen on a glassless mirror panel and you can even paint with acrylic paints for graphic effects or decorative treatments.
The smallest panels are about 3x5", however, to be cost effective it is better to have larger sizes whenever possible.
The widest a glassless mirror panel can be made is 75", this is determined by the film width. However, there is no restriction on panel length so they can be customized for your needs.
The internal frame gives the glassless mirror panel stability, therefore, the thickness is related to the panel size. Our standard glassless mirror panel thicknesses range from 1" for the smaller sizes to 2 1/2" for the larger sizes (over 60×108″).
As each panel is a completed glassless mirror panel and a structural entity, it cannt be cut on a job site. We can, however, work with your drawings for cut-outs for electrical panels and HVAC systems etc. These can be made at the factory to your specifications.
Yes there are! A glassless mirror panel tends to absorb sound, because of its structural nature, instead of reflecting it the way a plate glass, or hard, polished surface will. For schools and public gathering places, with high levels of noise, the sound-absorbing properties of a glassless mirror panel become stronger when the frequency (Hz) range grows higher.
We usually keep standard glassless mirror sizes in stock so we can often ship out the same or next day. We can expect to ship out within two (2) weeks if not in stock. However, depending on your location, actual delivery times may vary. Usually most glassless mirrors shipped via our trucking service, New Penn, take 1-4 days to arrive. If you need a specific delivery date, we can usually arrange that with you. If you require very large quantities of glassless mirrors, we will talk with you about the order and delivery time. If you have a custom order, please allow 4-8 weeks.
The glassless mirror warranty we offer is for ninety (90) days from the date of the sale and Fit-Outs will only accept returns due to manufacturing defects.
Returns of glassless mirrors will not be accepted unless authorized by Fit-Outs. When accepting delivery of glassless mirrors, we ask that you inspect the boxes and if you see damage by the freight carrier, refuse delivery, try and take photos, and write a report if possible. Glassless mirrors must be returned in their original packaging and in good condition. Fit-Outs will charge customers a 20% restocking fee for standard size mirrors and they must be shipped pre-paid freight. We cannot accept returns on custom size mirrors.
